“Christian Nationalist”: The Latest Arrow In Satan’s Quiver.

Emilee Danielson

A fairly new term is making its way into America’s consciousness.  The term is “Christian Nationalist” and it’s something you need to be aware of.  If you haven’t heard it yet, Armor Up!  You will, and a lot more as elections draw near.

So where did this term come from?  It comes out of leftist’s attempt to control the political narrative.  And they do this by making up words and slapping labels on wide swaths of people.  They will slap a suffix or prefix onto a word in order to paint certain people in a negative light.  People they have never met, but likely hold different views than their own. As an example:  slapping “phobe” or “phobic” on the end of words in order to label or brand someone as hateful.   Words like homophobe, transphobe, or islamaphobe fall into this category in an attempt to demonize those with whom they disagree.  Even as I type this on my computer, some of those words remain underlined in red, being identified as not an actual word.  But as the word is used like a mantra by the left, it will soon be accepted and added into our lexicon.

An example of an added prefix is the pro-life stance of Christianity.  We know God IS life, we love life, and hate the things that come against it.  But leftists NEVER refer to us as pro-life, we are always called “anti-abortion”.   Then they turn it on us and complain that Christians only talk about what they are against instead of what they are for.  As though we are petulant children needlessly complaining about everything we don’t like. However, nothing could be further from the truth, we have said from the very beginning, we are PRO-life. They take what we are for, identify anything that would be opposed to it, add a prefix to that opposing thing and label us as “anti___’, fill in the blank.

A second way they accomplish this is to take what the average person would consider abhorrent and give it a softer, more benign sounding name.  Like “women’s healthcare” or “reproductive rights” instead of abortion.  ‘Adult entertainment’ instead of pornography.  Sex outside of marriage is now just ‘co-habitation’.  These terms sink into the consciousness of people and suddenly they become a normal part of life, objectionable ONLY to those who are judgmental, hateful, and insist on clinging to their guns and Bibles.

Lastly, they do this by simply linking opposing adjectives together.  It cleverly makes what is completely natural and normal to appear as negative or even abhorrent.  Terms like ‘toxic masculinity’ or ‘white privilege’ are used to once again slap a negative label on wide swaths of people.  “Christian Nationalist” falls into this category as well.

They twist words, deconstruct language, and before you know it what is good is perceived as evil and what is evil they call good.  This is a very simple process and a proven method.  By this they are able to sway the ill-informed and simple minded.

So let’s look at this term Christian Nationalist.   When we think of the word Christian we tend to think of the masses across the country who would regularly or semi-regularly walk into the traditional American church that preaches about Jesus.  But when we think of the word Nationalist, it conjures up images of uniformed men goose-stepping through he streets of Nazi Germany or Communist China, or a fiery Benito Mussolini shouting off the balcony.

So they connect those two opposing terms in order to put a picture in your mind. And make no mistake - the term Christian Nationalist is intentionally created to put a negative impression on all church goers of America.

Now if we turned to the contemporary dictionaries, those perceptions would not be inaccurate.  Oxford dictionary defines Nationalist as:   “A person who strongly identifies with their own nation and vigorously supports its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of the interests of other nations.”  Leftists are using that term - to make you believe Christians love themselves far above anyone else and even to the detriment of others.  This is why the two words “Christian” and “Nationalist” are not just opposed in their meaning, but it’s an oxymoron.  When considered more fully we realize they are incompatible and cannot co-exist.  They are at odds with each other.

Leftists are in reality the actual Nationalists, as nationalism is an ideology that the citizenry should be congruent and subject to the state.  i.e. Hitler, Mao Zedong, Mussolini.  That’s where you get Joe Biden, while touring an auto plant, viciously going after an auto worker who dared to question him snarling, “I don’t work for you!” Because leftists and nationalists literally believe the citizenry works FOR government elitists rather than government being the servant to its people.

So, don’t take the bait!  They are using this to enable themselves to label any and all Christians who love their country as a threat and do so at their own discretion and whim. They are branding us with a lie rather than what we really are - a patriot.

The dictionary defines a Patriot as:  “Someone who loves their country and is ready to stand boldly to support and defend it.”  Don’t confuse the two words.  They are NOT the same and cannot be used interchangeably.  Leftists will twist meanings and exchange one word for another.  They apply words that appear similar, but are in reality very sinister.

If you are a true Christian, you will naturally be a patriot as well.  And a patriot is not someone who loves the land or the dirt that they sit on.  Their mission is not and never has been to make others subject to themselves.  They do not necessarily love the laws and systems that govern them.  NO!  We recognize those things can be good and we want them to be good for everyone. But what we mean when we say we love our country is - we love our countrymen.  We care about the people in our neighboring homes, cities, and states.  And while we may not agree with all of our countrymen on every issue - we do not hate them - and we want the best for them.  They may be of a different race, gender, or even religion, but we still want the best for them.  That is not nationalism.  That is individualism, Patriotism, and that is Christendom.

Phillipians 2:4, “Each of you should look not only to your own interests, but also to the interests of others.

Matthew 22:37-39,  “Jesus said to him, ‘You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind.  This is the first and greatest commandment.  And the second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself.”

THIS is Christian.  This is patriotism.  Looking out for people as a whole.

So yes, if I truly love my neighbor, I will not only look out for myself, I will consider myself, my family, my community, and my country in defending what is good and Godly.  I will actively pursue what I know is true for all people, everywhere, and throughout all time.  The truth of God our Creator is good for us all.

So much so, that when we look down through the annals of history it is axiomatic that all great advances in societies have been preceded by Christian patriotism.  In other words, when Christians cared enough about the people around them, they were willing to stand up against the status quo because they knew it was right, and things changed.  They changed dramatically and for the good. From the abolition of slavery to the civil rights movement of the 60’s, even as far back as the Bible, when God tells the nation of Israel, “I will bless those who bless you and I will curse those who curse you.” (Gen. 12:3)  It is a love for others that support, protect, and preserve each individual and by default the community as a whole.

It’s not anything new.  It’s actually an ancient concept that has proven itself over and over again throughout human history.

How then do we respond?  Understand first that it is not you that are railing against. At least, not you personally. After all, as I stated earlier, they are labeling people they have never even met. It is God that they battle against. And as God is not a tangible being that they can put their finger on, they go to the next best thing. Christians. His people. They can directly attack you. So we do not fight against flesh and blood, so do not allow those who hate the one true God to define Him, His Church, or you.  Christian Nationalist is as accurate of description of us as 'Women’s Healthcare is to the atrocity of abortion.

Reject it and expose it for what it is - an elitist lie in the quiver of the father of lies himself, that serpent of old, Satan.
