Interview with Tim Tebow Foundation President
Steve Biondo, President of the Tim Tebow Foundation, brings decades of experience fighting for those who cannot fight for themselves. The foundation serves some of the most vulnerable people globally, including orphans, trafficking survivors, those with special needs, and the medically fragile across 86 countries.
Working alongside founder Tim Tebow, whom Biondo describes as "Christ-exalting, intentional, disciplined, and compassionate," the foundation employs both direct care and strategic partnerships to create lasting change. They operate survivor campuses, schools, hospitals, and anti-trafficking initiatives while partnering with organizations to expand their impact regionally.
The Battle Against Human Trafficking
The foundation fights human trafficking on two major fronts:
- Street trafficking through brothels and massage parlors
- Online sexual exploitation and abuse material
"Human trafficking is one of the most horrific evils on the planet," Biondo explains. The online component has become particularly concerning, with FBI statistics showing thousands more crime sets in the digital space than street trafficking.
The foundation's comprehensive approach includes:
- Prevention and awareness
- Policy work with lawmakers
- Law enforcement partnerships
- Rescue operations
- Survivor aftercare
- Training national police forces globally
Taking Personal Action
Biondo emphasizes that everyone can help fight trafficking by being vigilant about online behavior. "Every click in the online space is a vote for more porn," he explains. The digital environment categorizes and creates demand for increasingly extreme content.
He advocates for accountability and clean technology use:
- Being able to hand over devices for inspection at any time
- Using filtered "pure phones" and computers
- Avoiding even "soft porn" that creates digital demand
- Teaching children about accountability early
Living Christ-Centered
Throughout the conversation, Biondo emphasized the importance of being "Christ-exalting" in every aspect of life - from physical fitness to professional work to daily interactions. His simple mission statement: "Wake up, serve, repeat."
"When we serve, we are the most like Jesus," Biondo explains. "We find incredible joy and we're set free when we serve - we just aren't worrying about ourselves."
Right On or Way Off Segment
The discussion concluded with three statements about children evaluated by the panel:
- "Sugar makes children hyper" WAY OFF - While sugar provides an energy boost, research shows it doesn't actually cause hyperactivity. What parents observe is often children's natural energy.
- "Children are our future so they should always come first" WAY OFF - While children are valuable, prioritizing marriage and maintaining proper parent-child roles provides security and healthy boundaries. The panel noted concerning cultural shifts toward excessive child-centrism.
- "Children should be thought of as a Heritage and reward from God" RIGHT ON - This biblical perspective (Psalm 127) views children as blessings while recognizing they're part of a larger family dynamic, not the sole focus.
The episode concluded with encouragement to stay grounded in God's Word as cultural darkness increases, maintaining hope and love while serving others.
