Gramster Rant: The Dangerous Deception of "Christian Nationalist" Labels

There's a new term being firmly planted in America's consciousness that demands our attention: "Christian nationalist." The left excels at manufacturing labels to paint swaths of people in negative lights, using several proven tactics:

First, they attach suffixes like "phobic" to anything Christians naturally oppose - transphobic, homophobic, islamophobic. Rather than "pro-life," they brand us "anti-abortion" to sound harsher. Second, they link unrelated adjectives to create loaded phrases like "toxic masculinity" or "white privilege." Third, they sanitize morally objectionable things with sterile terminology - "women's healthcare" instead of abortion, "adult entertainment" instead of pornography.

The term "Christian nationalist" follows this pattern. When you hear "Christian," most think of anyone who regularly attends church. But "nationalist" evokes images of uniformed men goose-stepping through Nazi Germany. By connecting these opposing terms, they intend to paint churchgoers as exclusive extremists who care nothing for those outside their group.

A nationalist is defined as someone who strongly identifies with their nation and vigorously supports its interests, especially to the exclusion or detriment of other nations. Leftists use this label to suggest Christians love themselves so much that the rest of the world can suffer - the exact opposite of biblical teaching.

Ironically, leftists themselves embrace nationalist ideology, believing citizens must conform to the state's will. They're deflecting what they actually are onto what someone else isn't. We are not nationalists - we're patriots. A patriot loves their country and stands ready to defend it against enemies and detractors. True Christians are natural patriots because loving our country means loving our countrymen and working for the good of all.

Scripture affirms this in Philippians 2:4: "Each of you should not only look to your own interests, but also to the interests of others." And Matthew 22:37-39 commands us to love our neighbors as ourselves. Throughout history, major cultural advances like the civil rights movement and abolition of slavery came through Christian patriots loving their fellow man.

Don't take the bait when they deploy this deceptive label. It's meant to paint any Christian who loves their country as dangerous and extreme. Reject it, expose it for the leftist lie it is, and stand firm in true biblical patriotism.

Salvaged by God Deep Dive: The Age of Unreason

We've entered what British journalist Melanie Phillips calls an "age of unreason." The people who once championed reason and logic to eliminate God have created a world where their ideological worldview cannot be questioned. Any evidence or truth claims that challenge their perspective are viewed as attacks on "all good things."

Romans 1:28 speaks directly to this: "Because they did not think it worthwhile to acknowledge God, God delivered them over to a corrupt mind so that they do not do what is right." When God "gives people over" to a depraved mind, they become incapable of logical thinking or sustaining themselves.

This mirrors historical examples like Pharaoh, who repeatedly hardened his heart until God finally hardened it permanently. We're witnessing a similar pattern today - there's no way back to sanity once God gives people over to their depraved thinking. This parallels two other biblical scenarios where redemption became impossible: Sodom and Gomorrah, and Noah's day. In both cases, judgment followed.

The implications are sobering: If there's truly no way back to reason through dialogue or evidence, then judgment draws near and Christ's return may be imminent. Just as Jesus said, "As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man."

Right On or Way Off?

"The contemporary gospel emphasizes how special we are; the biblical gospel emphasizes how special He is." RIGHT ON! While we are indeed precious to God through Christ's redemption, the modern church often elevates human specialness above Christ's supremacy. The true gospel keeps the cross central, letting our worth flow from His greatness.

"God is in control but He doesn't expect you to lean on a shovel and pray for a hole." RIGHT ON! While God sovereignly directs our paths, He expects us to work diligently using the gifts and opportunities He provides. There's a balance between trusting God and taking action - neither passive waiting nor self-reliant striving.

"I would rather be governed by the first 2,000 people in the telephone directory than by the Harvard University faculty." RIGHT ON! This William F. Buckley Jr. quote highlights how academic credentials don't guarantee wisdom. With 91% of Christian students losing their faith at secular universities and most Christian colleges promoting evolution over creation, common sense from ordinary citizens often proves more reliable than compromised academic thinking.
