False Prophecies and Spiritual Discernment

The recent assassination attempt on Donald Trump has sparked a wave of problematic prophetic claims and over-spiritualization. Most notably, self-proclaimed prophet Brandon Biggs had previously issued a "prophecy" that superficially resembled the event. However, his prediction included specific details that proved false - claiming the bullet would pass by Trump's ear and burst his eardrum, leading to a dramatic spiritual transformation. None of these elements occurred.

This pattern of false prophecy reveals a dangerous trend of people misusing God's name for attention and profit. As Deuteronomy 5:11 warns: "Do not misuse the name of the Lord your God, because the Lord will not leave anyone unpunished who misuses his name." Making claims in God's name that don't come to pass isn't just incorrect - it's a serious spiritual offense.

The Problem with Over-Spiritualization

Beyond false prophecies, there's a concerning tendency to over-spiritualize current events. Some are circulating memes comparing Trump's injury to the ceremonial application of ram's blood in Leviticus 8, attempting to paint him as divinely anointed. This misapplication of Scripture takes passages out of context and leads to unbiblical conclusions.

While we can thank God for His sovereign protection, Trump surviving an assassination attempt tells us nothing more than July 13th wasn't his appointed time to leave this earth. God's sovereignty over all events doesn't automatically indicate special divine favor or prophetic significance.

The Fix Is In: A Sobering Reality

The assassination attempt itself raises troubling questions about security failures and institutional corruption. The incident was suspiciously mishandled - from CNN's unprecedented decision to livestream the event to the inexplicable security lapses that allowed an armed assailant such close access. The rapid scrubbing of the perpetrator's social media presence adds to the concerning pattern.

These developments point to deep systemic issues that likely cannot be resolved through normal political processes. The compromise of key institutions appears too extensive for conventional solutions.

Living in Biblical Truth

Rather than chasing sensational prophecies or political solutions, Christians must return to Biblical foundations:

  • Test all claims against Scripture
  • Reject false prophets and teachers
  • Focus on Christ rather than personalities
  • Trust God's sovereignty while remaining discerning
  • Prepare for potential persecution
  • Build fellowship with like-minded believers

As societal divisions deepen between authentic Christ-followers and mere religious adherents, believers must ask: Is Jesus alone enough? The answer must be yes, as He may be all we have left if current trends continue.

Three key statements were examined:

  1. "You're never too far gone for God to use you" WAY OFF! While God can use anyone or anything for His purposes, Scripture warns that continued rebellion can lead to a seared conscience and inability to repent (Hebrews 6:4-6).
  2. "Tolerance is the last virtue of a depraved society" RIGHT ON! As D. James Kennedy noted, when an immoral society has violated God's commands, they insist on tolerance for their immorality as their final "virtue."
  3. "Separation is coming between church followers and Christ followers" RIGHT ON! Scripture indicates an increasing divide between authentic believers and those who maintain only religious forms without true faith.

The current instability and uncertainty in our world makes it more crucial than ever to hold fast to Biblical truth rather than chasing signs, wonders, or false prophecies. Our hope must rest in Christ alone.
