The cultural landscape for Christians in America is rapidly shifting. As rational dialogue becomes increasingly difficult and the national religion appears to be moving toward LGBTQ ideology, sharing the love of Christ is now often viewed as an act of violence. This paradigm shift means dealing with people who have given themselves over to what Scripture calls a "depraved mind."
The Challenge of Modern Ministry
Sharing biblical truth in today's environment requires more discernment than ever before. Americans in the 21st century face unprecedented challenges where biblical views can cost relationships and employment. The solution isn't found in censoring ourselves, but in being stronger in our convictions while maintaining Christ's love.
The balance between truth and love isn't about opposing forces - they're deeply relational in God's word. When we miss this balance, it often indicates a discernment problem.
The Remnant Church's Role
The concept of the remnant church comes from Romans 11 and represents those tightly woven together in biblical truth. Like fabric remnants that are so closely knit they can't easily be torn, true believers are unified in ways that transcend surface-level agreement.

- Better bands and entertainment
- Watered-down gospel
- Focus on numbers over transformation
- True ministry focuses on:
- Holy Spirit-led conversion
- Biblical discipleship

- Spiritual maturity
Hope Amid Darkness
Despite challenging times, there are encouraging signs:
- More people taking faith seriously post-COVID
- Growing hunger for biblical truth
- Clearer distinction between authentic and nominal faith
- Opportunities for genuine ministry
The solution isn't found in lamenting darkness but in being "up on the wheel" daily, wanting Jesus's name made great and helping others grow stronger in faith. When the remnant church focuses on authentic discipleship, evangelism happens organically.
Practical Response
Christians today must:
- Maintain biblical conviction without compromise
- Exercise greater discernment in ministry
- Focus on strengthening fellow believers
- Allow evangelism to flow naturally from authentic faith
- Trust God's sovereignty in dark times
- Find joy in Christ despite circumstances
The key is not choosing between strengthening believers and reaching the lost - both happen naturally when we focus on loving Jesus authentically. As our culture grows increasingly hostile to biblical truth, the remnant church must stand firm while maintaining Christ's love.
Just as Elijah learned he wasn't alone when God revealed His 7,000 faithful followers, today's believers must remember they're part of something bigger than their local experience. The path forward isn't found in cultural acceptance but in faithful obedience to Christ's calling.
